Poi Poi originated in newzealand as meteor poi (attached end to end as one solid piece of rope) used for hunting. The effect when on fire is spectacular leaving traces of fire where the heads have been, which leaves patterns in the air. Staff Gives the same effect as poi but can not easily be stopped once in movement. It is more physical on the body, especially when doing contact moves.
Clubs Although it can leave a trail its more for watching the actual clubs than the fire which just adds danger. It is perhaps the most recognized form of juggling originating from before the medieval period.
